Automatic investigation in player protection - the decision stays with compliance
How a Swiss casino investigates flagged gaming behaviour automatically: the robot gathers the data and calculates the risk, compliance decides on the ban.
The Swiss Federal Gaming Board oversees casino operations in Switzerland; that includes monitoring gaming behaviour for patterns that may harm guests. For the compliance team, each alert meant gathering gaming and financial data, calculating the risk, requesting missing details from the guest and producing the investigation report - 30 to 60 minutes, with an average of ten alerts a day and more than fifty over the holiday season. On top of that came reviewing and filtering the alerts, which took time every hour.
A robot monitors the platform where unusual gaming patterns are flagged. When an alert comes in, it starts the investigation: it gathers the gaming and financial data and calculates the risk from it. The result goes to a compliance specialist as a form, who decides on a ban. Where data is missing, the robot requests it from the guest directly; if no answer arrives within the set timeframe, the ban is applied automatically.
