Every warranty and licence is ordered, tracked and delivered to the customer – automatically, from the order to the email
How an online retailer automatically orders the warranties and licences contained in customer orders from the supplier and delivers them to the customer, including reminders for upcoming renewals.
Customer orders often contained warranties and licences alongside physical products, bought from the supplier only once an order came in. Someone had to identify each one in the system, request it, track the confirmation, update the order and email it to the customer – time-consuming, repetitive, and with little visibility into where each item stood.
A software robot now detects new licence and warranty orders, places them with the supplier, monitors the confirmations and delivers the items to the customer; when details are missing, it asks employees through a structured Excel sheet. For renewable products it builds internal overviews and sets Outlook reminders for future resale – fewer manual steps, fewer delays, more transparency.
