The client helps operators of large kitchens in hospitals, schools and factory canteens reduce food waste. The previous application was outdated: configurations could not be updated, browser compatibility was missing, reporting did not run automatically. More than 20 indicators were tracked in Excel and the slide decks compiled by hand every six months - under strict data security requirements.
An application built with Power Apps replaces the old system. Each location can be configured individually - inventory system, disposal type, portion sizes and frequency - so food waste can be calculated precisely from what was prepared, consumed and discarded. Power BI replaces the Excel workflows: slide decks are generated automatically and exported directly. Benchmarking features compare locations across the entire client portfolio.
