At the University Children’s Hospital Zurich, medical professionals prepare approximately 70,000 consultation reports each year for referring physicians. Distribution is managed by the central medical secretariat, with each case following its own delivery requirements, either by email or post. Given this volume, ensuring timely and efficient processing became increasingly challenging, requiring the equivalent of approximately 300 working days per year.
A specialized software robot fully automates this process. Based on a set of rules it assigns the recipients to the appointment reports, applies further triage rules, forwards the reports and marks the dispatch as completed.
