A large online retailer receives more than 70,000 order confirmations a year from over 2,700 suppliers – mostly PDFs by email. Every deviation in price, quantity or delivery date has to reach the ERP.
Now all suppliers send their order confirmations to one central mailbox. A robot collects the PDFs and AI extracts the relevant data, such as order number, price, quantity and delivery date. The robot compares them against the order in the ERP. If price or quantity deviate a person review the case in a validation app, which brings together the extracted data from the order confirmation, the initial order information from the ERP and the original PDF document.
